Fort Pierce, Florida - After a long and successful day of showing property on Hutchinson Island, I took my son to our favorite restaurant last night, 12A Buoy located at Fishermans Warf of Fort Pierce. The Port St Lucie and Fort Pierce real estate market has been hot lately so I had worked up quite an appetite and 12A Buoy was the natural place of choice.
The place was packed and the hostess said they were on a 30 minute wait. Just as she was talking, I noticed a spot at the bar open up so my son and I bellied up! "How lucky was that Dad" my son said in a voice like we had just won the lottery.
12A Buoy is first come, first serve. But during prime time there is always a wait. The staff is professional and will remind you of the delightful and energetic enthusiasm one finds in getaways like Aspen or Santa Barbara. Good vibes for sure.
You see, 12 A Buoy serves the best food in Ft Pierce, hands down!
Ask any local; they will direct you to this very unassuming building at the base of our south bridge for some of the best food you've ever had. From seafood to steaks, the selection is varied and appetizing, but be prepared to settle with an adult beverage for a short while.
We started with Raw Blue Point Oysters and a cup each of their delicious Clam Chowder. For our main course, I had the Offshore Pasta (clams, shrimp, scallops and fish sauteed in a garlic wine sauce served over linguine) my son opted for The Gluttony (pan seared grouper, shrimp, red peppers, spinach, shredded parm and a Cajun cream sauce with linguine.)
The food, well it was fantastic. The service, awesome. The atmosphere, dynamic. As usual.
If you are vacationing in Vero, Ft Pierce or Port St Lucie, don't miss out on an opportunity to dine at 12 A Buoy.
