My Top 10 Moments of 2015

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace NV License # 56750

A key part of setting goals is knowing where you are right now. To understand that better, it's sometimes helpful to look back and see exactly how you got there. To come up with my top 10 moments of 2015, I decided it would be most genuine if I went with the first ten that I thought of. Here they are in chronological order:

  • Joined LifeTime Fitness ... Since I have to pay for my own health care coverage, I look at good fitness and sound nutrition as major components of maintaining good health. LifeTime is more expensive than most, but the quality of expertise and equipment is worth it -- plus they are the only facility in Henderson with indoor tennis courts. After 15 years, I stepped back on the courts in the fall and am excited at improving my conditioning and playing much more in 2016.

  • 2nd largest sale of my career ... On a Saturday morning I received an emailed showing request for one specific home in a guard-gated Henderson neighborhood. We met at noon, and after a quick look the buyer said "I'm going to pay cash. How soon can we wrap this up?"

  • New headshot ... I love to take photos, but am extremely hesitant to get in front of the camera. When Image One came to my office, I made an appointment and decided to completely trust the direction of the photographer. My AR profile pic was the result, and I'm very happy with it.
  • New car ... On a Saturday morning in May I was headed to LifeTime, but my 2000 Saturn didn't handle quite right and stalled in the parking lot. Rather than a workout, I decided to head to my long-time mechanic who diagnosed a major transmission problem. I barely made it to the dealership, but four hours later had a new (to me) 2014 Hyundai.

  • Capped on production ... In Keller Williams terms, "capping" means you've paid your share to the market center for your fiscal year, and all future sales are 100%. It's a nice production milestone, but this year I want to go much further.

  • Completed 14 hours toward CRS designation ... I value the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation because it is both education and production based. I have the production and elective credits completed, and need just 18 required hours to finish up.

  • Relaunched Henderson Real Estate Guide ... I've always had a lot of ideas for blogging, but been complacent in implementing them. With my Wordpress site, I'm beginning to turn the corner and looking forward to really ramping things up this year.

  • Closed referrals from PA, HI, and MA ... I love to show out-of-state clients everything that Henderson and the Las Vegas area has to offer -- not just housing, but also our schools, parks, shopping and dining, recreation, whatever is important to them. I'm very grateful to agents around the country who trust me with their referrals and look to expand this in 2016.

  • Sheltie Card Exchange ... There's a group on Facebook called "The Wonderful Sheltie" consisting of Sheltie owners from all around the world. One member organized a holiday card exchange of mostly U.S. members and it really brightened Christmas to get 50+ cards with beautiful Sheltie photos and warm holiday greetings.

  • Shadow turns seven ... I adopted Shadow through Nevada Sheltie Rescue when he was just 16 months old. This Christmas Eve he turned seven and he's still as playful and loving as ever. He's also very sensitive to my moods; sometimes a gentle nudge or a happy bark is all it takes to turn things around.

I'm sure I've missed several other big moments of 2015, but want to thank Karen Fiddler for the encouragment to look back. Doing this has helped me begin 2016 with a sense of gratitude and appreciation, and hopefully I'll remember to take time to celebrate the small victories along the way.

I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2016. Happy Leap Year!!

What a great list!  I agree fitness is an investment, it will make your next year even better!  Congradulations on capping.  (Once you cap, you will never not cap again..)
