Recently a resident of New England was wrestling whether to purchase a seasonal home on the East coast of Florida or the West side of Florida. I will help this person discover the environmentally friendly Southwest Florida with its Gulf beaches, sparkling waterways, pristine Charlotte Harbor as well as all of the cultural, recreational, dining, shopping delights. A great site to discover more about Charlotte County is Charlotte Harbor Travel. Just click on the link:www.charlotteharbortravel.com
Nice post. So which way did the buyer go E/W?

Hi, Cynthia. I love the east coast of Florida... Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami... but as a native of Venice, my heart is in Southwest Florida!

I enjoy the majestic Atlanta Ocean from those locations also but our SW FL beaches are my favorites, especially Boca Grande. However Venice beaches are pretty special. Seeing you are in Tallahassee, those Destin beaches are a good destination also.

Cynthia, the stretch of beaches from Panama City to Destin to Pensacola rival the turquoise water and the white sugar sand of the Caribbean.
Don't you just love Florida?

You are right, Praful. I was raised through elementary age in West Granville, MA but have been a Floridian since 1961. Send your folks my way for a "get out of New England during winter" 2nd home.
Hi Cynthia,
Welcome to Active Rain. I've been to both coasts and I enjoy the west coast much more.
