For the third consecutive year, Oregon holds on to the No. 1 spot as "Top Moving Destination," as Americans continue to pack up and head West and South.
Those are the results of United Van Lines' 39th Annual National Movers Study, which tracks customers' state-to-state migration patterns over the past year.
Having spent considerable time in Oregon when my daughter played varsity soccer at Willamette University, I know first hand what is causing families to move there. Recreation all year round starts at sea level and spikes at beautiful Mt. Hood. Top notch colleges and universities allow high school graduates to study in-state. The state's history is rich with stories of the explorers, Lewis and Clark, and the Oregon Trail ended in the fertile Willamette Valley. Oregon is changing, it is vibrant and it is beautiful.

Towns with interesting names like Oak Grove, Lebanon, Astoria and Aloha sound inviting. Bend and Medford have welcomed many new businesses and new families.
