Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our 76th week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:
to enjoy the ride"
"take a trip without even leaving the farm"
"expand your horizons"
"see through someone else's eyes"
and hopefully much more!
MUSEUMS IN AMERICA
Today we are going to visit some museums across the country.
The Frontier Army Museum is just one of three unique museums in Kansas City MO.Kevin Flinn offers some ideas when you get cabin fever this winter.
How about an entire street devoted to museums? You can find those at West Main St on Museum Row in Lousiville KY, thanks to Chris Thomas' post.
Any railroad fanatics out there? California State Railroad Museum might be right up your alley. Susan Neal takes us there.
Famous fashions through the years, brought to you by two bloggers! This First Lady Dress Exhibit in Washington, DC is shown through the eyes of Dr. Stacey-Ann Baugh (2011), and when you're done there, head to
Hillwood Estate in Washington, DC and follow along with Roy and Dolores Kelley on a recent trip they took earlier this month.
Philadelphia Museum of Art, a perfect place to visit with one of our star designers, Joanna Cohlan.
Lake Tahoe has a list of museums offering local history highlighted by Peg Augustus. This is an example of understanding the prehistoric peoples found in this area. She gives good descriptions of different museums and places of interest to educate yourself!
If you are looking to further educate yourself, OR um...."Muse" over art, OR have a Bucket List that needs fleshing out, you might just need to visit these for yourself!
Please don't forget to comment on these blog posts and I hope that you enjoyed all of these virtual travels.
