IPhone vs Blackberry...and the Winner Is?

Real Estate Broker/Owner Texas License #590301

Not much of a contest in 2016, you think?  How about in 2010?

In just 6 years the tables have turned for our Smartphone usage.

Read the post BELOW for a blast from the past.  In 2010 I was a new agent, new ActiveRainer, and Blackberry devotee.

Today I may have changed to an experienced real estate broker BUT I still use a Blackberry!

Did you know that 46% of REALTORS® are using a BLACKBERRY and 27% use an IPHONE for their smart phone/mobile device?

At least that's the result of a Quick Poll taken during yesterday's webinar entitled, There is an App for That! presented by Amy Chorew, Technology Specialist.  74% of the attendees gave a response.

The National Association of REALTORS®, through it's REALTOR®  University presented a whole day of FREE webinars.  I was lucky enough to attend all seven and came away with lots of fresh ideas for marketing, technology tools and tax strategies.

Here's another statistic about wireless device/cell phone use among agents/brokers.  According to a 2009 NAR Technology Survey, 85% used a Smartphone in 2009 vs 45% in 2008.

Quite a jump in numbers, don't you think?  We all realize how important it is to be the FIRST agent to respond to a consumer's question.  And being so completely mobile helps us serve all our clients and customers better and faster.

Maybe by the end of this year, all real estate agents will use a smartphone for our "road warrior" needs.  And maybe we should all go out and buy stock in the smartphone market?

Now, if we can get some increases like that for real estate property sales we'll all have a GREAT 2010!

Kim,  I'm a Blackberry user from way back when they were only PDAs.  Have the Passport model now and like it because the larger screen is good for reading and I don't have to use the laptop/desktop as much.  I do love the real keys!

still android to me... been there with a crackberry, was nice and fast for text and email, but the world has evolved so much with further needs for more than a blackberry can offer today.. not that I agree with iphone, but not blackberry anymore.

Mark,  Yep...the old crackberry user..that's me!  I've almost switched to an iphone every year for the past several years, but as long as RIM keeps upgrading their technology, I'll probably stay with the Blackberry.  Good security,  Happy New Year to you and yours.

Blackberry all the way for me. Not changing to iphone. I started with the Blackberry Pearl! lol Now I have the Blackberry Classic. Nothing beats a crackberry, in my opinion, except perhaps the Galaxy, but I'll never switch.

Glad to hear there's somebody like me Pamela Seley !  The future for Blackberry may be improving - hope so - I don't ever really want to switch either.
