Unfortunately, the Springs is a city of mostly corporations, giving us less of an opportunity to explore and support our local businesses unless we live in places like downtown where many local establishments tend to converge. There are countless benefits associated with supporting local businesses. To name only a couple: you can be sure that the money you spend primarily supports the local economy and small businesses tend to have a much more personal feel making customer service fantastic. In order to further encourage others to keep it local as much as possible, I would like to take the time to highlight a business in particular that has given, and continues to give me, wonderful experiences.
Cupcake Girls is a small cupcake bakery located downtown on Weber and Platte. It is a quaint shop that offers a slew of classic, modern, and unique, but delightfully tasty cupcakes. A personal favorite is their "baby cakes" cupcake - a lemon and lavender cupcake. They also have several gluten free options to satisfy even those with dietary restrictions. The shop is owned by two charming and down-to-earth women with a passion for baking.
After stumbling upon the shop during a walk downtown, I thought it would be a great place to host events such as showers or small parties. The cost to rent the space for two hours is only $50 not including cupcakes. I have since planned a bridal shower and a graduation party at the Cupcake Girls and have been very pleased with the outcomes. The two owners are readily available for questions and help, yet give you the freedom to plan parties to your own taste. Their cupcakes of course never fail to be a crowd pleaser too.
Whether you are simply looking for a tasty treat while in the area, or a place to host your sister-in-law's baby shower, Cupcake Girls will surely be the perfect place. Their customer service is outstanding and their cupcakes are mouthwatering. Aside from Cupcake Girls, there are many more local establishments that always leave customers happy. So keep it local while you indulge in great experiences.
