I follow Barbara Todaro 's blog because I like her opinions and that she now is an independent marketer, I hope to pick up tips as I learn more about online marketing.
Looking at her new title, it reminds me of the circles my life has taken. My first year at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, I took a computer class and hated it. Mind you, this was just before personal computers were common (as I hint just how old I am!). Move up over 20 years later, I volunteer to move into a computer tech position in the company.
Next year in college, I took a statistics class where I had to do a phone survey. Hated every dialing moment.
The next year, I had to sell stadium cushion seats as a fraternity fund raiser. I bought as many as I could because I was too shy to sell to others.
I graduated with a business degree with a marketing minor. Never really used anything I learned in college as I had a series of administration jobs after graduation. Having the degree helped me get my jobs, but I never had a job where I used the knowledge from my classes.
Now, where am I? I have a job where I sell services to others, using the phones, and having to market my services to find clients.
Life is truly interesting.
