Week two is almost over and it’s on to week #3. Is this all a waste of time? Are we failing miserably? Statistics say that less than 10% of us will actually hang in there and make it to our goals! 10%!! That means most of us will be in the 90% failure group. Is that depressing or what? Makes us want to throw in the towel before we even start! NOT!
The goal here at the Murray Morris Group was to help interact with you and keep you on track, to encourage you and give your tips and ideas to assist you along the way. Is the deck stacked against us? Are we doomed to failure because the entire idea of setting goals each and every year is unattainable? Are you in the 90% group and we haven’t been able to help you? If you’re reading this, then there is still hope! You’re doing great and we think you “just might make it!”
If you’re getting ready to throw in the towel, don’t! Don’t let yourself give up. It is not too late to start right back in and try again! Use the tips from our first two New Year’s Resolution posts and the ones we have here. Get back to work and make it happen. Make 2016 the year you not only make your goal, but surpass it!
The Murray Morris Group believes you CAN do it! We want
to know if we should keep on trying to meet OUR goal. Are we helping keep you on track by showing up each week with ideas and plans to assist you? We don’t want to throw our towel anywhere but up in the air with excitement, as we rejoice in your success.
What are the best ways to keep your goal alive and well? Are you an auditory type of person? Leave yourself a voice message on your cell phone. Play it each day to remind you of what you are striving for in your life changing goal. Download some self-help audio files, or get a CD at the library. Pop it in your car and listen on the drive in to work each day.
One of our readers writes his goals down on paper and keeps it where he can see it every day. If you’re a visual person, this will work great for you too! Put post it notes in places where you might have the opportunity to slip. Places like the refrigerator door, panty door, or the cupboard you stash your “treats” in! What about a note on the back door that says, “Did you ride your bike today?”
We found some great apps for your cell phones just made for goal setting. Apps like Aherk, Livifi, Lifetick, 43Things, Joe’s Goals, and many more. Check them out, find one that might work for you and give it a try. Move to another one if you don’t like the first. Keep trying. Find out what is going to give you the necessary encouragement and incentive to reach your goal.
Hang in there! We have NOT given up on you yet. We really, really want to meet our goal. So we will keep trying to help. If you succeed, then we succeed. Tell us how you’re doing!
