Braindead Brewing - Check it Out!

Braindead BrewingTonight I enjoyed an evening of laughter and good food, with clients and family at Braindead Brewing in Deep Ellum. If you have not tried this brewpub I recommend checking it out the next time you're in the area.

This casual restaurant has an industrial feel.  Guests sit on benches at wood tables that can easily be reconfigured for larger parties. Due to all the hard surfaces in the restaurant, noise was a bit of an issue.  This is a great restaurant for a fun evening with friends and not so great if you are discussing a business issue.

Braindead BreweryEveryone agreed that the queso was the best we have tasted anywhere. The restaurant serves queso in a generous bowl with just the right amount of chili and a dollop of guacamole in the center.  There was not even a drip left in the bowl!

My Coma Burger, made from beef ground in-house, was topped with carmelized onions and cheddar cheese, and served on a fresh baked buttery bun.  The well seasoned fries were outstanding.  Friends ordered the Cuban,  Table Sandwich, and Brisket Tacos.  All were delicious.  Check out the Braindead Menu. The cookies and milk were a dessert hit. These were not ordinary cookies or ordinary milk. The cookies were Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Pecan Cookies served fresh from the oven next to a glass of chocolate milk with a touch of Stout!

The check is delivered to the table tucked into the pages of a book.  Guests are invited to sign and leave a message on a page of the book AND pay the bill.

If you like craft beer this is the place to try!  They have a good local beer selection. There is a minimal selection of wine for those who prefer a glass of red or white wine. No hard liquor is served at the restaurant.

Good morning Sharon.  Don't know that I have ever tried any crafted beer.  We have some in the area, I guess it is about time I tried some.

Looks yummy! I spent three days in Plano last weekend and love The Ginger Man at the Shoppes of Legacy. No food but oh what great beers! :)

James, craft beers continue to gain popularity here. I prefer wine and enjoyed a glass while the rest of the group sampled craft beers.

Shar, The Ginger Man has some great micro-brews. I'm thinking we should have scheduled a mini AR meet up!  I think that every time I pass through another city.  We are all so busy.  Have a great week!

Endre, you may have a point.  The owners have said that they joked around about using the name Braindead.  No one has said why.  The feel of the brewpub is casual and  friendly. You definitely do not need to use your brains, with the exception of figuring out the tip!
