Yes, Believe it or Not, we have rules and guidelines for “Playing in the Rain”, Active Rain, that is. Have you taken the time to check out all the rules and guidelines for our AR community? It’s very impressive list, and intended to keep us on our best behavior, and not violate any of the Fair Housing laws, and respect our real estate industry.
This month’s contest asks us to focus on one or two of these rules, but I know that may present a challenge for me, and others too. But at the top of the list it says “The ActiveRain community and real estate industry as a whole will only be respected to the degree of character represented by the actions of its professionals. Do not conduct yourself in a way that disgraces your fellow members on this network.” Showing respect and being courteous to all members is a must in my opinion to keep the Spirit of our AR community at a very high level.
Keep in mind that everyone has an opinion about something, and everyone writes a post in with their own views and opinions. It’s OK to disagree, but we still need to respect the original writer’s point of view. Keep in mind that many of our posts are viewable to the general public, and “attacking one another” does not give the public a good opinion about our value or moral system.
Now, let’s briefly focus on the point system. We all love points, and the sooner you get the 500,000, you’ll have a FREE Rainmaker account. Points should only be awarded on your original content, and not anything that you copied or paste, or borrowed from someone else. So follow the rules and guidelines very closely here to earn your points correctly.
Another rule that I would like to remind all Rainers is “Do Not advertise yourself or your services in the comment section of another member’s blog post.” This is frequently done by new members, or those who haven’t taken the time to read all the rules and guidelines in our community. Finally, “Do not send unsolicited emails, faxes, or calls for your services to other members too.” You may choose to write a post about your services and products, and I am sure those interested will contact you for more information.
Take the time to read all the rules and guidelines. Then follow them to help keep our AR community one of the best in our real estate industry.
