UPDATE: SNOW TOTALS FOR MY FAMILY IN MARYLAND, UP THE PIKE TO NYC & WESTCHESTER, THEN NORTH TO KRYSTOL IN DUTCHESS CNTY.
Here is an active radar storm tracker above...look for your state line and nearest city through Sunday and sunshine at last:
...and this is the latest projected snow totals for Westchester County, especially in and near Bronxville, Yonkers, Mount Vernon and all in the southern county region. We heard that we should add up to a foot on these numbers, as of this a.m. So, that's about 1.5 feet of snow in Mount Vernon, up to the Scarsdale, White Plains night by the time this is all over on Sunday morning
Our Forecast for an historic snow storm and coastal flooding kept changing this week for Saturday's storm in Bronxville, NY 10708
Kay...I have waited to post this because 1) we are suiting up at work for this storm and 2) the forecast and forecasters were all over the place -- like the projected path of this storm. We watch the weather in restoration because it can really impact our Westchester County clients, friends and family.
So, here's the latest and it's a lock for about a foot of snow south of I-287, only 3 to 6 inches in Northern Westchester and a dusting of 1 to 3 inches, north of I-84. So, now everyone can keep calm, dust off shovel vs. their snow blower and get the milk and toilet paper.
SPECIFIC CITIES (BETA: USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION): HARTFORD, CT: 5″ 2″ 5″ , SCRANTON, PA: 6″ 3″ 6″, NEW YORK, NY: 12″ (4″ north/12″south) 15″, PHILADELPHIA, PA: 12″ 12″ 15″, ATLANTIC CITY, NJ 17″ 17″ 20″
With a full moon this weekend, high winds and storm surge from this "Nor'Easter" with its counter clockwise circulation off of the Atlantic, our neighbors on the Soundshore could have flooding in basements or finished lower levels.
Forecasters are saying that the storm and a surge are coming in at high tide, on both weekend days, along the Long Island Sound.
So, take caution along the Sound Shore, bring everything that's waterfront in and off the shoreline and patios.
Keep an eye out in your home and business basements, from Mamaroneck and Larchmont -- near my Vet's office -- down to City Isle in The Bronx through high tide on Sunday!

Anyone you know in the D.C. or Philly area is getting about 12 inches+, or up to 2 feet, so call and comfort them. That's especially true if our area or theirs has power outages. With a warm up above freezing early next week and our sump pumps sitting there powerless, we need to check our basements. Our home in Fleetwood is an 1896 build with a field stone foundation, but we've stayed dry and have a dehumidifier down there, all winter and summer! Word to the wise.
If you experience a surge, call for help -- for your "cocktail" of water, seaweed and "stuff" coming in from the Long Island Sound. Shop local and call a 914- restoration company...most of us have a free estimate and walk-through. If it's a sump pump down from downed power lines, your insurance may cover it, so call them for a claim number and then get the water out in the first 24...so mold doesn't grow by summer!
We hope all are safe and warm and have lights and power through this snowy weekend. Please stay in, off the roads, let the road teams get us clear and see ya' on the other side.
