From sunshine to snow in 36 hours

Good afternoon everyone-As many of you know I left for Florida on the evening of the 11th and I returned last night about 4:30 pm.  I was so glad to be home and sleep in my own bed(more about that later) and to see my kitty Shadow. She was so very happy too.

I am VERY thankful that I didn't plan to come home today because I wouldn't have made it and that wouldn't have been good because Mom would have been here by herself as none of the aides would have been able to get here. The south doesn't handle snow well at all.  Sometime after midnite it starting snowing and hasn't and won't be stopping til sometime Saturday afternoon. Right now it is sleeting out. OH JOY!  We have already got about 8" and will continue to get more.  Must be El Nino is to blame.

While I will miss the warmth of Florida I won't miss their traffic. I thankfully managed to find everything including Kathy Streib who many of you know I had the good fortune of meeting on the 18th.  She is even nicer in person if that is possible. I thoroughly enjoy our lunch which she very generously bought for me. I got to drive down the famous Atlantic Ave and once was enough for me.  It was a holiday so it was wall to wall people and traffic.  I found the place fine but I was early and looking for a spot to park I went up several streets and was only about a mile away but finding my  way back was another story.  Well we did get to meet and that is the important thing.

Due to their both being sick I didn't get to meet Toni Weidman or Christine O'Shea. I did have fun and saw some new sights and places. Now some places I plan on NEVER revisiting but that is another post.  I will be catching up with everyone in the next few days.  Have a great weekend. I will be shoveling. My back hurts just thinking about it.

Hi Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD -I will be sharing more soon. I needed to come home to get some good sleep. I won't do anymore than necessary with the snow shoveling. Back is already grumpy.  Love the new profile pic. Very professional.

Sharon, It is good you got back home before the storm.  That would have been bad for your mother.  Too bad you could not meet Toni and Christine.  Next time.

You be careful shoveling all that snow.

Hang in there, Buddy. At least it's not CO where you can expect it to snow all winter long. You will thaw out. Although I know you Southerns aren't use to the white stuff.

I'm glad you got back safe and sound and I can't wait to hear more about your trip. Mike is here for a few days, and we are getting some stuff around my place.

Gloria Todor -I feel very lucky to have gotten home before this storm, It would have been not good for Mom to be here alone. I was bummed I didn't get to meet them but when you don't feel good you don't feel like entertaining. I will be. Just where I need to get the car out is all I am going to do tomorrow.

Hi Debbie Laity -Thank you and glad Mike is there. I am a transplant not an actual southerner. I lived in upstate NY half hour from the Canadian border for all but the last ten yrs so I have dealt with much worse weather than this but had a snowblower and I was 10 yrs younger. Enjoy your weekend with Mike.

Sharon, we have 30 inches of snow. My husband and stepson were out early with the snowblower and shovels. I was out for a short while and decided enough of this shoveling so I started dinner.  The neighbor stopped by and finished the circular driveway with his new tractor.  Great to have good neighbors.  Glad you got to meet Kathy. I'm like you, can do without all the people and traffic.

Rebecca Gaujot, the Go To Realtor® -I figured you would have been hit harder. With the sleet we got it is going to be hard to shovel. I don't have neighbors who can help so I am on my own for clean out with a shovel. Yes I can do without all that traffic. Glad to be home.

Hi Sharon -- Welcome Home --- now stay safe, keep warm -- sounds like it might be time for some additional re-bonding time with your four-legged friend.

Sharon Lee ~ thankfully, it looks like you just made it home before trouble hit. I am so glad yo had a good time in Florida, and I only can imagine how fun it was meeting up with Kathy... I would have bet a lot of money on Kathy being an angle in person, and I am sure your lunch included great conversation

Jon Kolsky -Yes if it had been Friday i planned on coming home I wouldn't have made it. I did with a few exceptions at a couple of motels. Kathy Streib is indeed an angel and even nicer in person and that is hard to do. We had a great conversation.

It's been so hot that I'm looking forward to snow. I also don't mind shoveling it.

So now you need to do a post on the places you won't be visiting again in Florida.

Debbie Laity -I am not a fan of the white stuff. Done enough shoveling when I lived in NY.  I won't be in Fla again for a long time but no motels next time. Had cockroaches in the last one I was in.
