Good afternoon everyone-As many of you know I left for Florida on the evening of the 11th and I returned last night about 4:30 pm. I was so glad to be home and sleep in my own bed(more about that later) and to see my kitty Shadow. She was so very happy too.
I am VERY thankful that I didn't plan to come home today because I wouldn't have made it and that wouldn't have been good because Mom would have been here by herself as none of the aides would have been able to get here. The south doesn't handle snow well at all. Sometime after midnite it starting snowing and hasn't and won't be stopping til sometime Saturday afternoon. Right now it is sleeting out. OH JOY! We have already got about 8" and will continue to get more. Must be El Nino is to blame.
While I will miss the warmth of Florida I won't miss their traffic. I thankfully managed to find everything including Kathy Streib who many of you know I had the good fortune of meeting on the 18th. She is even nicer in person if that is possible. I thoroughly enjoy our lunch which she very generously bought for me. I got to drive down the famous Atlantic Ave and once was enough for me. It was a holiday so it was wall to wall people and traffic. I found the place fine but I was early and looking for a spot to park I went up several streets and was only about a mile away but finding my way back was another story. Well we did get to meet and that is the important thing.
Due to their both being sick I didn't get to meet Toni Weidman or Christine O'Shea. I did have fun and saw some new sights and places. Now some places I plan on NEVER revisiting but that is another post. I will be catching up with everyone in the next few days. Have a great weekend. I will be shoveling. My back hurts just thinking about it.
