I wanted to call Jane Peters because she lives and works in the areas that I lived in for so long – Westwood, Santa Monica, Culver City, Wilshire Corridor, Beverly Hills, Westwood and Santa Monica. I enjoy reading posts from 'Rainers who live and work in my old stomping grounds.
My initial call went to voicemail but Jane called me back a few seconds later. She told me that since my call was from a Chicago number she was hesitant to answer since most out of area calls turn out to be telemarketers. I told her that I have the same issue. I'm often concerned that I may be missing an important business call from an out of area number, but when I do break down and answer an out of area call, sure enough, it's a telemarketing call.
Early in our conversation, Jane asked if I had a website. In reading her blogs, I have come to learn that Jane is Ms. Website. One look at her own website and you can see that Jane knows what works to capture the public’s attention, serve their needs and get them to contact her. I gave Jane my website address and she looked at it and gave me plenty of great pointers on what I have now, and on what I should look for when developing a new website in the future. In addition to websites, we talked about blogging, SEO and how to rank on Google. To say Jane knows her stuff is an extreeeeeme understatement.
Jane is a wealth of information about websites and ranking on Google. We could have gone on and on about that alone but I didn't want to miss finding out about her market and about what she wants to achieve in 2016.
The Beverly Hills/Westwood/Sana Monica market is in strong seller's market. As Jane puts it, “there's just no inventory.” Inventory in her area is tight in both the sales market and the rental market. As for what Jane hopes to achieve in business and ActiveRain in 2016, well let's just say that she takes each day and each experience as it comes. Jane doesn't box herself into plans. What is meant to be will be. Jane has a live and let live personality. Anyone who works with her can expect an consummate professional who will give them the best information available and help them make the best decision.
On several occasions during the call and once again as we closed our call, Jane told me, (someone she had never heard of or spoken to until a few minutes earlier), “if you need any help or advice just contact me.”
If that doesn't embody the ActiveRain spirit, I don't know what does!
