Three musicians will perform at Mu Phi Epsilon's Free Concert, Sunday, January 31, 2016:
Julee Kim Walker, flute
Mary Alice Druhan, clarinet
Ekaterina Chernaya-Oh, piano
This concert is the first of Mu Phi Epsilon's 2016 Spring Concert Series. All concerts take place in the Central Library Auditorium at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, in downtown Dallas. Although its late January, I like the idea that Spring is on the Dallas Horizon! I have actually seen tulips blooming around the city.
Mu Phi Epsilon, a professional music fraternity, has been committed to advancing music in communities around the world since 1903. The Dallas Alumni Chapter has sponsored concerts since 1937! Artists donate their time and extraordinary talent to share their love of classical music with the public.
If the local weather service is correct, next weekend may be extremely Spring-like!
Take a walk across Young Street and see Artist Henry Moore's bronze metal sculpture, Dallas Piece, in front of Dallas City Hall. Then walk west on Young Street to Pioneer Plaza on the corner of Young and Soth Griffin. Experience the amazing Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive bronze sculptures, created by artist Robert Summers. Trail Drive Downtown Dallas , The larger than life sculptures, include 50 Longhorn cattle and 3 Cowboys!
