Grateful Sunday - 01.24.16

I have a lot to be grateful for. For the most part, I live a lifestyle full of conveniences that rival that of most of the world. I have a business that earns the employees and me a living. I live in a nice, comfortable house that I enjoy cleaning. I drive newer reliable vehicles and do not have any shortage of clean water or food. I can get on my laptop and I have access to the Internet and connect with all corners of the globe. If I want to talk to someone, I can reach in my shirt pocket, pull out my iPhone and do not have to worry about communication issues. I have access to some of the finest healthcare in the world, all at a reasonable price. In short, I essentially live a good life with a lot of freedom, safety and security.
It is easy to take these wonderful blessings for granted. In the grand scheme of things, I have more than millions or even billions of inhabitants around the world. Sadly, most do not have the basic necessities of life.
When I think about it, most inhabitants of the world do not have anywhere near what I throw away. I often forget how blessed I am and how blessed I am that I live in a country so wrought with opportunity. When things do not go my way, it is all too easy to forget how blessed I really am. Maintaining an attitude of gratitude is something I need to focus on. How about you?
Think about it, those without a place to live would love to have a house to live in, much less clean. Sadly, most homeowners gripe about cleaning their home. A person without any transportation dreams of having a car to drive, while someone who owns a car is more likely to complain about the cost of regular maintenance and unexpected repairs. I truely have much to be grateful for.

Wonderful post. When I find myself in a position where I feel like things are just not going right, financially, personally, in business, I always remind myself that there are people who have it far worse and they survive. I'm very grateful for what I have and the people who make it possible both financially and emotionally.

We are blessed Michael and it's good to be reminded of it. Our God (at least mine) asks so little of us, just that we love Him and one another.

I try to begin and end each day by thinking of a few things for which I am grateful.

Today, thinking of the photos of empty grocery store shelves in the East, I felt grateful that there's enough food in my pantry and freezers to live for a month or two if need be - and there's enough fuel in the tank to keep the generator going so I can have power for a good long time. AND - there's enough wood in my woodshed to keep me warm for the rest of the winter.

Yep, put all that together with my super family, my good dogs, my wonderful clients, and the ability to work at home, and I have more than enough to be thankful for.

Good morning Michael. You are so right, we have so much to thankful for, but there are times we forget and take blessings for granted.

Good morning Michael.  I for one do not take anything for granted.  Each breath is a blessing, being able to have all the things we have in this country is just a dream for most of the worlds population.
