“Baby, it’s cold outside,” as the song goes. It’s no fun to have lots of shopping to do, and to have to hop in and out of the car running to a strip mall here, a strip mall there, each time having to brace yourself to face the frigid air again. That’s why it’s so wonderful that the Hunt Valley Town Centre could be your only stop. It is conveniently located in Cockeysville, right off I-83, and has just about everything you can hope for in a day of shopping. Of course, this is just as true in the summertime, when you would have to go out in the heat to shop.

The shops in the Centre are as varied as the tastes of the American buying public. You can shop for furniture, clothing, household goods, and  knick knacks. It doesn’t matter how long you have to be there, because there is food for every palate. You could begin with breakfast, shop until lunch, take a break for lunch, shop some more, then eat dinner, and never have to go outside.

This is such a good place to shop, that Greenburg Gibbons Commercial Corporation is teaming up with AvalonBay Communities, Inc. to build a new 332 unit multi-family residential complex, adjacent to the eastern side of the Centre. The upscale apartments will include parking, of course and a wide array of amenities, as well as the convenience of being where shopping is so handy.

The mixed-use trend in property development recently has lent itself to this idea of placing apartment complexes very near, or even in tandem to, shopping facilities. It works for both the residents and the retailers at the Centre. Since you can work, shop, eat, play and do almost any business right there, it adds a whole new dimension to the term “homebody”. There are even plans to add a Carchex and a Lifebridge Health facility to the Centre.

Having a shopping facility like this nearby is a great selling point if you want to list your home. It’s also a good reason to buy a home in the area.

I’m excited about the changes coming! If you know of any new projects that might benefit our community, I would love to hear about them. You can email me at Ian@thelobasgroup.com or give me a call at 443-463-5506.

I love learning why people love the areas they live in. Tell me your favorite part of your neighborhood and what you like to do on the weekends.
