While I feel like 2016 has been around for quite awhile now, yesterday was our company's 2016 Kickoff Meeting... An annual event where we put our phones away, catch up with fellow agents whom we don't see nearly enough, celebrate all that was in the year prior, and celebrate with anticipation all that is to come in these 11 months ahead.
2015 was a FANTASTIC year for our company! We're the #1 independent broker in our region and hit the billion dollar mark in sales. Our office was expanded and remodeled and is now a source of pride to visit with clients in. Our broker/owner launched a best selling book. We donated another $30k to the Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center which puts us just "a smidge" under the $200k mark for total donations from our annual golf event! AND... yours truly was, once again, named a Top Ten Agent based on annual sales. I also had the honor of being nominated for the Team Player Award this year and while I didn't get it, to simply be nominated was enough for me.
As agents, we wake up every day unemployed. And while the root of success (in my opinion) lies in the mirror, I absolutely know that without COUNTLESS people in my world, I would not be the agent that I am. I am absolutely blessed with a fantastic group of people whom I collaborate with, learn from & grow with, am supported by and have fun with... From my spouse and children to my parents & friends who supported this career change from day 1; to the wonderful office staff whose support is priceless; to the great leader/mentor/motivator who is our broker/owner; to the agents I've created my own "water cooler group" with who keep me sane and happy; to the attorneys, inspectors, lenders and collaborating agents who are not only great professionals but have become friends committed to doing the right things for the right reasons; to each and every person who sends a referral or tells me they enjoy my newsletter or just asks how the market is. For all of them: I AM THANKFUL! This award is for you!!!
My plan is in place and I intend to grow upon the experiences of the past and have more fun and success in 2016!!
