Ringin' & Singin' with Beth Atalay
When thinking of who to call for this month's challenge, I tried to come up with people I've never spoken with in person before. I was actually pretty shocked to realize I'd never had a person to person, voice to voice conversation with Beth - we've communicated back & forth for a couple years now in the rain, and are facebook friends as well. After talking with Beth for a bit, I was glad we had the chat!
Beth lives & works in the suburban Orlando, FL market, primarily in Clermont, FL, and works with both home buyers and sellers in the area. She has a wealth of experience and has seen her local market through the worst of times (the great recession) when there was a large inventory of distressed properties (Florida markets were some of the hardest hit when home values began to fall), and has helped buyers and sellers alike with her expertise as the market has recovered and homes have regained their value.
Outside of real estate, Beth enjoys spending her time traveling. New York City is her first love and she tries to visit several times each year, but isn't a fan of very cold weather - as a transplant from the Northeast, I can relate! In 2016, Beth plans to visit NYC, Canada, Israel, and Turkey, where she was born.
In 2016, Beth plans to continue to grow her business through strong personalized marketing tactics. She's found luck with a few different avenues and plans to continue to work on them throughout the year. One thing Beth mentioned that I'm a strong proponent of is hand written notes. In my opinion there's no better way to personalize a message than writing it and sending it as a greeting, with no mention of business.
One challenge Beth faces in the coming year deals with the shifting inventory. There are no longer many properties available under $180,000 as distressed inventory has slimmed, but the demand for a good deal in the area, especially amongst investors, is strong.
I'm so glad that I got to know Beth a little bit better today, even though we've communicated via the interwebs plenty. I'd strongly suggest following Beth's blog, and getting to know her for yourself - she's a tremendous example of not only a very good real estate agent, but also a very good blogger that knows how to show off her local expertise and knowledge of the Clermont, FL area. And of course, if you ever need to refer a buyer or seller to the greater Orlando area, Beth would be a tremendous resource and someone you can trust would do a great job.
