Ringing and Singing in the Rain - Bruce Walter
This week for the second time I got the pleasure to speak to another ActiveRain member being Bruce Walter. Sharon & Bruce Walter are a Team who covers the West Lafayette IN area and they work for Keller Williams Realty Lafayette IN. I have been reading Bruce’s posts on Active Rain for sometime. He does not get the opportunity to post on a daily basis but he does write some very excellent posts.
Bruce is a former school teacher as he taught history and economics for several years. He also coached several teams and taught Drivers Education. Drivers Education is up my alley as I was a Student Aid in High School. The Coach’s always stuck me in the cars with the worst drivers and let me teach how to parallel park. Bruce told me during the school year he was working 12 -14 hour days all the time. He certainly misses the children and interacting with them but not the constant demands in his time.
We had an excellent discussion about several subjects and I was able to throw in the questions which needed to be asked. Bruce is a very interesting person to talk to and he is loaded with knowledge. He has a great memory as he remembered several of my past posts information and our Dog’s name.
Business in West Lafayette was very busy last year and Bruce feels this will continue into 2016. West Lafayette is home to Purdue University. I grew up in the Midwest and I am pretty familiar with all the Big Ten schools. Purdue is an excellent school and not just a sports factory. West Lafayette’s economy is very good and is driven by Purdue. Bruce and Sharon worked very hard last year and they expect the same tooccur this year. Bruce indicated they had not had a vacation in several years. Gosh this is starting to be a trend among my AR friends! Yolanda and I will have to make up for the lack of off time taken by our friends!! ::))))
Bruce and Sharon want to accomplish in 2016 basically the same as what they did in 2015. They had a large number of deals in 2015 ( I will keep the number private) and considering it is only the two of them I understand why they were so busy all the time. This number of deals takes supreme effort and expertise. These folks go way beyond the extra mile for all their clients. One thing they want to do in 2016 is continue to provide this level of service to all their clients. Very few agents I have seen in action in this part of country even come close to doing what these folks accomplish for their clients. I am confident achieving this service level will not be a problem for them. Their business is driven by referrals as they do not even have a web site! Totally Amazing in my mind! They are not looking to expand their business in terms of number of deals closed.
Bruce said he would like to get another client through his ActiveRain efforts in 2016. He likes the camaraderie and interaction of being part of ActiveRain. They will continue to use ActiveRain as they have in the past.
Sharon handles all the listings and Bruce handles some of the rest of the business. He likes the ability to do whatever needs to be done on given day. This is the flexibility Real Estate affords him. He likes to spend time with their dachshund as they lost one dog last year and Mattie (sp) has some health issues. I remember this situation as it was like losing a child for them.
