Ringing and Singing, with Alan Kirkpatrick.
With the January Challenge, "Ringing and Singing in the Rain", hosted by Debbie Reynolds , she gave us a little push to give us some extra contact with Active Rain members. The January meetups were also going on at this time, hosted by Bob Crane.
We were to contact another member that we have not contacted before and get to know them, plus getting some answers to several specific questions.
I called Alan Kirkpatrick , Austin Texas Homes, in Round Rock, Texas. Last night, he was at an Active Rain meetup, arranged by Dorie Dillard. He was excited about the new members, who he had not previously met and intends on going to more meetups in the future.
Our conversation went in two directions, as he commented on my paintings. On a trip to Miami, Florida, he visited an Industrial and Textile area that has been transformed into Graffiti Artwork on the walls, which has become quite popular, with even Wedding shoots being done there.
Indiana has quite different weather than the Austin, Texas area. The temperatures in Indiana have been below freezing, with snow and ice, while he has been enjoying some 70 degree weather. This led to a discussion of how homes are built differently in each area.
Alan's daughter, while attending college, has been helping out with the paperwork and administrative duties, so that he has more time he can devote to Real Estate clients. With the experience gained, she may just end up working in Real Estate next to her dad.
In Debbie's contest, she requested we ask the following questions:
1. How is business in your area?
With the uncertainty in the energy situation, it is uncertain how that will affect the housing market. The inventory is low, just like most of our areas, with multiple offers on what is available.
2. What do you hope to accomplish, in your business for 2016?
Alan wants to add more to his farming with a focus on his past clients, to reflect more referrals. We discussed Pop-bys and Facebook referrals, through past clients contacts.
3. What do you hope to achieve through Active Rain in 2016?
Alan wants to continue his regular posting and linking to social media to help increase his local Real Estate business.
After talking with Alan, I'm sure, with his church foundation and faith, he will be a success in whatever he does. I wish him a successful year. Who knows, one of these days, we may have a real meetup for dinner.
"Of course it will have to be warm weather."
