This vegetable still life greeted us when we walked over to the Garden of Eden tent.  It reminded me of a class I took in college, painting still life!

Here is the exaggerated illustration of the definition of "turning beet red!" What a gorgeous color!

We love fresh peas, and these English peas are in season now!

The beautiful purple lavender color of this cauliflower took our breath away!

Asparagus root stock can be planted now for the spring crop.  This farmer was selling these, as he had too many.

Wishing you lots of  Saturday Smiles,

I can understand how that lavender caulifflower took your breath away, because it did mine, as well. But the pictures of the carrots are also stunning.

Hope you're having a great weekend Alexandra and Ron.

I would LOVE to get my hands on those carrots.  Every once in a while we get some, but not very often.

Hi Ron & Alexandra, I just stopped by for a peak at the latest news from your Farmers Market. I love Beets and Carrots, used to do a lot of juicing.

Kathy Streib It has a slight difference in taste than its white cousin.  It is a little bit sweeter, and is great roasted in the oven at 450 with olive oil, garlic and sea salt brushed over it.  A

I love red beets.  I need to pick some up and make them with salmon.  I have found them to be a great combination.

Chris Ann Cleland when it comes to beets, I like looking at them...and I love the golden colored ones also to look at.  I have tried them several times in various ways, and just don't like them.  LOL A

If I could hop on a plane and get to your market, I would do it in a split second!  I love fresh fennel!  Although I can buy it at Whole Foods and other markets, it's not as beautiful as what I'm seeing in your photo.
