What is the Carlsbad Village by the Sea Lifestyle?
No doubt there are many answers to this question, depending on who you ask (residents, visitors, different age groups, part-timers), but perhaps with a similar theme running through them.
Enjoy the slideshow below for an introductory glimpse at life here in Carlsbad (not just the Village)
Naturally when one thinks of Carlsbad, and specifically Carlsbad Village, the immediate lifestyle theme centers around the beach. With 7 miles of coastline, many settle here, or visit, to be near the beach and enjoy a myriad of activities in the water, on the beach, and nearby.
There’s something very magical about the ocean and the beach, no matter where you might be, whether you prefer a remote one where you can enjoy it all by yourself, or a beach where there are amenities galore nearby.
In this series over the next few months we’re going to explore a bit more of the Carlsbad Village lifestyle – what it means to those who live, work or visit here, emotionally, psychologically and practically (you know, services, dining, shopping, touristy stuff). And of course we’ll talk some about the housing market in the Village – what the options are, prices, local market conditions, and perhaps ever some features listing that might put a twinkle in your eye! If you are interested in buying in the Village, for a primary residence, a vacation property, or perhaps an investment, you no doubt have questions about your options – we’ll be sure to address those questions.
Carlsbad Village is the business hub of Carlsbad, a community of around 110,000 people in North San Diego County, located about 35 miles from downtown San Diego, anywhere from 40 minutes to well over an hour on the 5 freeway depending on those SoCal road conditions we all who live here know about.
You can get to the California desert in a little over 2 hours, and LAX and Los Angeles are 90 minutes to 2 hours to the north so living in the Village provides easy access north south and east. The public transportation in the Village also affords opportunities to avoid driving your car and take trains both north and south – more on all that in a later post.
For those who are relocating here, or would like to, our explorations of Carlsbad Village will help you better understand the lifestyle experience you can enjoy, whether you live in the Village or nearby.
So what will we cover? Well, pretty much anything having to do with life in CarlsbadVillage – businesses and services, atmosphere, dining and shopping, tourist attractions, things to do and see, the arts and music, fairs and festivals, and daily life in general. Are there some negatives? Depends on your perspective, and we’ll talk about those realities, too.
So buckle up and come along on this ride with me (and I’ll offer some video and plenty of photos to help you help like you are here).
