Track it! Darn it....

I recently have taken my business coaching to a new level and wanted to share some AAAHHAA’s as they say at kw.

3 great tracking things come to mind.

  1.       Tracking your activity. With this new business coaching tracking your contacts is a huge part of business. Tracking your face to face time and number of contacts is crucial. This little technique lets me keep score on whether I’m making contacts or not. You might think that you’re talking to enough people but when it comes down to it, are you really making good and enough contacts. Right now my goal is 60 talk too’s per week, 15 face to face meetings a week and 5 lunch or “break bread” meeting a week. If you’re not talking to people then you’re not going to be doing business.

  2.       Tracking your money. Over the past 6 months I have been tracking both by business expenses and personal budget. It sure does sting a bit when you start to track your personal budget. The 2 huge changes these systems have made are in the amount of money being spent both in the business and in my personal expenses. I can now, that I know where the money is going, hold it accountable. Is it making me money or is it keeping me on my path to success, if it’s not, then say good bye to that expense.  
  3.       Now time for the sexy tracking. I found an app called Mile IQ. This app tracks my driving and mileage. It might not sound sexy but when I really tracked my mileage, the amount of business miles being lost was staggering. Because I was not properly tracking my mileage over the past 10 year, I have probably lost thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars in write offs.

So the enxt time you think, should I track my                                , the answer is certainly YES.

Tracking what you are doing is a good way of meeting goals.   This is a good idea.
