“Take Every Opportunity to Give Out Your Business Cards”

I read your blogs all the time on FB. We actually met a couple of years ago when we were waiting in line at motor vehicle, any way you gave me your card. I googled your name and liked what I was reading.

I'm ready to buy and just need to know where I stand. If you could please get back to me at your earliest convenience, sorry to send this through your website.

I am going to have to spend more time waiting in line. This is the second time I have given out my business card waiting in a motor vehicle line.

Do you take every opportunity to connect with people? What better opportunity than waiting in a slow moving line. So instead of being upset with how slow the line is moving, take advantage of the opportunity.

After speaking with this person it turns out he is not quite ready, but he now has a pathway and understanding of what he needs to do over the next few months.

Joe, interesting since younger buyers say they throw them out I don't order them anymore...I send them a link to my web site but if biz cards work for you that is just great!

Those little billboards that get passed around have shelf life beyond just something online that catches the edge of their eye or not. The business card still works and is easy to tuck away with important papers that gets brought out, or pinned to a bulletin board. Put them at local diners, on the community bulletin boards. Not tacky. It is all about visibility, exposure, frequency in marketing.

Nice reminder, Joe. As an impatient New Yorker, my first instinct is to get annoyed at the wait instead of handing out a business card.

Joe Petrowsky This reminds me of Sandy and I when in public. She never seems to have her cards with her and will often turn to me asking me for a business cards as I carry for both of us.  You just never know when that opportunity for a new 'touch' will occur.

Good morning Joe Petrowsky ,

So glad to see Kathy Streib featured this in her "Ah-ha" moments for the week. I was hoping she would as I do believe having those professional cards ready to give out!!

JOe, and I'll bet you do it in the nicest way possible! I LOVE giving out my business cards, as they have a beautiful photo of Fishhawk Lake, which always draws people's attention. I go through Moo and create my own.

Debbie Gartner always talks about sitting at Starbucks with her Branded Computer and working to attract attention. I haven't done it yet, but it too sounds like a very wise decision. Getting out and meeting with the public a good thing.

Joe, thanks for sharing how handing out business cards works for you.

The bottom line is that we need to be out and finding every opportunity to engage people. Handing out the card helps them remember our conversation and puts information in their hand for ways to contact us.

I give out tons and people will follow up at some time.

It's a good habit to keep in mind that every conversation is with a potential client or business partner.  You clearly do a great job keeping that in mind.
