Are you looking for great Valentines Day ideas? If you are like me, I try to find unique gifts that I think my true love may like. So, where to begin? Well, you could go for a romantic gift, or perhaps if you have a partner like my husband, he prefers to do rather than receive material things. With that in mind, I started searching for romantic things to do for Valentines Day as well a few adventurous experiences. Instead of just giving candy and a card, I like to mix it up a little and keep him guessing. I find that when I give a gift of adventure for Valentines Day, it’s something that we share and enjoy together. Since we are lucky enough to live on a beautiful coast, there is an advantage for creating a romantic Valentines Day evening. Here are a few Valentines Day ideas that you may find interesting.
Sunset Cruise: The Sarasota and Bradenton areas have the prettiest sunsets. Take advantage of what mother nature has to offer and book a sunset cruise. There are several companies around the bay in downtown Sarasota that offer sunset cruises which include music and cocktails. What a better way to spend the evening and enjoy our beautiful weather.
Sarasota Orchestra: Want to serenade your love? The Sarasota Orchestra has put the romance back into Valentines Day, well actually, the week. With “A Song In My Heart” week, the orchestra will feature music for romance. Last time I checked their calendar, tickets were selling quickly, so if this is something that interests you, get them now.
Circus Winter Performance: Who doesn’t love the circus? And Sarasota is the circus town! For just two weeks in February, you can enjoy an afternoon show. This is the 18th year that the winter circus will be here. Last year it was a sold out show. If you want to prove to that someone special that we all can be kids again, then let the show go on!
Say Yes All Over Again: Valentines Day at the Beach in Siesta Key. Renew your wedding vows on one of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S. This event has been so popular over the years that the second location is Venice Beach. The renewal will be done in a group fashion so you may want to plan ahead. This is usually an event that gets closed out fairly quickly.
Festival of the Arts: Pick up something special to remember this special day together. I like to buy art with my better half because it is something that we keep and talk about later. The Festival is located on Main Street in downtown Sarasota and runs from February 13-14th.
A Dinner At Home-With a Private Chef: Want to cook dinner, but not really? Hire a private chef for the evening. Spoil your loved one with a romantic dinner for Valentines Day. The chef will bring all the food, cook and clean up. Yes, even do the dishes while you enjoy dinner together. The Sarasota and Bradenton area have several chefs available that will provide you with menus and prices. I found quite a few chefs that had menus which included organic and gluten free meals.
Valentines Day should be spent having a great time with that special person in your life. Valentines Day Gifts can be events that are shared. Having a wonderful experience together, sometimes is the best gift. Perhaps a laugh or two, a great bottle of wine and a wonderful sunset to end the romantic evening.
