White Bean Turkey Chili

1 and 1/4 pound ground turkey

1 cup chopped red onion

1/3 cup poblano pepper seeded and shopped

2 garlic gloves minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 19 ounce can cannelini beans rinsed and drained

1 14 ounce can fat free less sodium chicken broth

 

Combine ground turkey, onion pepper and garlic and cook in skillet until turkey is done.  Stir in all the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. 

 

Stir in 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro.  Garnish with lime wedges.

I am not  a turkey person...so I would substitute chicken but have copied the recipe...sounds great !

Thanks for the reblog, Roy. I missed this recipe when Sybil first posted. And as I always make chile using turkey I'm always on the lookout for a good recipe. But I must admit, I like using a variety of beans in mine--white, red, black.
