Today is National Wear Red Day as part of the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women® campaign. We tend to think of heart disease as primarily a male problem, but heart disease and strokes kill one in three women every year and are often referred to as the "silent killers." Fortunately in the past 10+ years great strides have been made in raising awareness that heart disease and strokes are the number one disease affecting women. Charlotte, North Carolina has a very active American Heart Association Chapter and tomorrow, February 7th, they are having their 58th Annual Greater Charlotte Heart Ball at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It's not too late to order tickets. This is a great event and if you've never been, you should make a point of attending at least once.
