A world of white can be a magical place, something our Southern friends miss out on every year.

The ground hog called for an early spring and when that happened people were happy, but not all as there was some dissention.  Just because he called for an early end to the winter mess, didn't imply that we were free and clear. Winter Storm Barbara is hitting the state and before she's done we're going to have another 8 inches of white misery.

Front door view

Opening up the front door and the snow laden branches on the trees block the view of the street and the neighbors across the way.

back door

Out the back door you can see about 3 inches already on the deck rails and barely a glimpse of the storage shed in the yard.

It will snow all day.  Schools gave closing notices last night, and nothing to do until it stops and then the fun begins with the cleanup.

Some time before the weekend is out, my neighbor George in Middletown will look like he did last year when he posted about the Frozen Tundra.

George Souto

Yes, Phil saw his shadow, but like so many weather forcasters, he may have missed it a little but he'll still get his dinner and try again next time.

That is the very definition of a winter postcard! I love it and would actually love to paint it even!

Hi Bob, this is a great re-blog.  I love the way it looks when the snow first falls, but after that I had the salt, sand, shoveling and the nasty parking lot iceburgs!

Good morning Bob Crane . This is a great re-blog. Snow is so pretty when it comes but it looks better when it goes.

Good morning Bob. I couldn't make it into work on Friday, there were cars a sliding all over the roads, we ended up with eight inches.

Very pretty! We had an inch or so of snow the other morning and it stuck to the trees like those pictures. Quite beautiful.

That's sure pretty to look at, and I prefer to look at it from the comfort of my warm home.
