Do I need a license to fish on Lake Sinclair?

If you are 16 years of age and older you must have a current fishing license in your possession while fishing in fresh or sea salt water in Georgia.  And these days purchase can be made right online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. GoFishGeorgia.com  There are also several places you can purchase them in person in Putnam County.

In Lake Sinclair you can catch Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth bass, Spotted bass, Shoal Bass, White bass, Hybrid white-striped bass, Channel catfish, Flathead catfish, Black crappie, Sunfish redear, Sunfish redbreast, and Sunfish, bluegill.  There are daily limits on most fish and that information can also be found on the GoFishGeorgia site.

Fishing is relaxing for some and sport for others.  I personally like to just order fish when I eat out.  The whole cleaning/cooking thing I don't like so much.  But if you are about go down to your dock or out in your boat to fish, make sure you have a current license first.  There is the exception of fishing from your own property. A license is not required for that, but if you are leaving your property you should get a license.

Tammy, you mean people don't have to take classes and pass a test?  Cute photo, by the way.

Patricia Kennedy not yet anyway. LOL  And that was Abigail in 1995. I used that photo to sell the lot with that dock she's standing on.  It was listed for for under $50,000.  I wish I'd bought a dozen of them.  Would tell for 4 times that today.

Haha, Tammy.  I am with you, I also personally like to order fish when I go out.

I used to love to go fishing.  I never fished.  I read the newspaper and laid on a blanket and ate snacks.  That is my idea of going fishing.

Darling picture - that fish is almost as big as she is.

Good morning Tammy. Even though we live on water, I don't own a fishing pole, but see folks fishing all year long. The ice isn't thick enough right now, but will be before long.

Thanks for sharing the photo.

This reminds me of my friend that is a Game Warden.  We were sitting at a bar having drinks and he was talking with our waitress and she asked what he did.  When he said he was a Game Warden, she didn't know what that meant, so another friend quickly chimed in that he arrested people for catching too many fish, haha.

Hi Tammy, fishing license is needed in my area as well, very simple to obtain, fishers could do it the day of the excursion. I've never been a fan of fishing, I do enjoy the fish on my plate though.

Hello Tammy ... I am not into hunting but I love fishing, and sometimes just boating around or just sitting in the middle of the lake on a calm day!

Hello Tammy, many never know they need a license to fish, you did a great job on your Localism blog explaining when you need a license.

Such a great localism post, Tammy. Better to be safe, than sorry. Getting fined for enjoying fishing is no fun at all. D

I don't fish but like to eat fish. A friend gave me a whole mess of fish but I had to clean them. Yuck. By the time I was finished I wished I had gone to Captain D's instead.

Tammy, I'd love to fish on Lake Sinclair, I have a lot of fond memories with my Grandfather just floating along and talking while we waited for a bite. Great localism post and your photo goes perfectly with it. Lots of variety to be caught in Lake Sinclair.
