ActiveRain Winter 2016 Meet-up in Orlando FL
Was Not Quite Impromptu
ActiveRain meet-ups are the best. And it’s even better, in some ways, when you are out of your local area!
I am in Orlando FL for the CRS Leadership Training (Feb. 6 – 7) and the 2016 CRS Sellabration (Feb. 8 – 9) and had the good fortune to get together last night for a long conversation and a terrific dinner with Silvia Dukes and Beth Atalay, both of whom I have followed for ages, and Silvia’s friend and fellow CRS Ruth Bryson from nearby Tampa.
Thankfully I had a break between these events, and I learned a while ago that Silvia was coming to town for Sellabration. It was the perfect opportunity to meet her since we missed doing so in San Diego back in November. And with Beth less than an hour away, and Ruth in town for Sellabration as well, we had to make it happen.
Silvia, Beth and I had a great conversation in the Orchid Court Lounge at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort for about an hour beginning about 5 pm, and then headed to dinner at celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s “Emeril’s Tchoup Chop” (pronounced Chop Chop) where we hooked up with Ruth for a wonderful dinner.
The conversation from beginning to end was lively, covering all sorts of real estate issues (and a bit of ranting), food, family, marketing ideas, referrals, general listing and buyer practices, MLS issues, travel, the weather, and so much more. Oh, and the food was terrific, too!
It was such a treat to finally meet Silvia and Beth in person, and to make a new friend with Ruth. I think we finally parted ways about 8:30, the end of another terrific AR meetup.
