Winning over naysayers contest

Well, I tend to get a wide variety of objections and complaints, both over the internet and on the phone.  As this particular contest is speaking directly about the internet objections, I will only address one of those for this post.

My most common, or possibly should I say most annoying concern is that my area of Laveen is a terrible area.  This will come in the form of the school systems are bad, or that the “south phoenix area” had a terrible repuation.  Well, I assume much like any town, there is always going to be a section or part of town that has a stigma associated with it.  For us here in South Phoenix and Laveen, it is the stigma of being the tougher, rougher part of town and with it all the “bad”.

Truth is, I’ve lived in the South Phoenix Laveen area since 2001.  I have no issues with the area, have never experienced anything that I would consider “bad” as per some comments and concerns I’ve seen on-line.  Do we have some criminal activity (theft,  burglary, domestic violence…etc), sure who doesn’t.  Yet, it is nothing as some commentary on-line would have you believe.  Some would have you think it is the baddest of bad.

Commentary

Comment - I’m concerned with the south Phoenix and Laveen area.  I’ve heard that while there is some good pricing on homes, it is a “dangerous area!

Me:  I have heard that a lot, and usually it comes from folks that have never visited our area.  I would highly recommend, visit it yourself, come during different hours, and you may find it is the best kept secrets in Phoenix.  I live here, and I love it!!

Comment – The schools I’m told are horrible in the area.

Me- I would highly recommend you visit the schools website, check out actual reviews, and set up a visit to a school.  The district has put a lot of work into the academics and the infrastructures as well.  You may be surprised to see the comments you have heard, are not true.  Check it out for yourself.

What a great answer for those concerned about the area schools. I am sure the site you referred them to will allay some of their concerns.

David - A great way to overcome those negative comments is by directing them to the actual source of information, and also inviting them to visit the area and local schools. That is a great approach.

Great way to get people to do some homework and not go with "I heard" which is wrong SO often.

Good morning David. I would imagine telling a client that this is where you live does more than anything else you would say.

I like the way you handle those objections and the fact that you have lived there for so many years speaks volumes.
