Real estate is a great investment!  I have investors who get 15% ROI from their little rental properties --quite a bit more than banks are paying these days!   The video looks good but I couldn't get the sound to play  : (   Ah, technology!

I agree that real estate is always a better investment than gold... you can't live in your gold, and you probably wouldn't want to rent it out.
