I am trying to adopt a dog at the NYACC and cannot reach a human by phone, as they begin the daily 1pm kill shots for un-adopted dog or cat.
What can I do, but fill out the badly written application with no FAX number or instructions on it for contacting a human. We just want to go and meet "Snow" a siberian husky mix and see if they will let us adopt him. It's 20 miles from our house, downtown in Manhattan and I FINALLY reached a volunteer...see more on this saga below...here's my boy, Snow:
SNOW - ID#A1064621 I am an unaltered male, white Siberian Husky mix. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year old. I weigh 42 pounds. I was found in NY 10019. I have been at the shelter since Feb 06, 2016. This information is less than 1 hour old. |
Snow has a sister there too, and she is not a happy girl. If someone can take both, her broh, Snow would be such a happy husky camper. We grew up with Siberians, Satan, Sonya, Nicolai, Mayflower, Sigried and the whole fam. They are GREAT with kids, loving, loyal, protective but not agressive and just your BEST FRIEND, BFFs.
At 10 years, plan to put them on Move Free (CVS has it for humans) with MSM for the hips and on Ecotrin for pain. My uncle and the family Siberian breeder has his huskies until 12 or 13, about 3 years longer than average.
This is a big commitment, but our guy, Atlas would love a pal and canine companion!
Meantime, we are trying to start a rescue, to pull cats, dogs and bunnies etc. off the NYC animal shelter kill rooms and take them to a green place, foster them and adopt them out.
