Westridge In Woodbridge Virginia
Westridge is a lovely planned community at the eastern end of Prince William County, on the western edge of Lake Ridge. Westridge was developed and built in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Drive down the streets of Westridge and you will notice mature landscaping that accents the homes.
The builders in Westridge were NV Homes, Long Homes, Sorenson, Winchester Homes, and Fairfield 
Homes. Westridge offers you a variety of townhomes and single family homes.
The community has at its center a lake and swimming pool facility that is second to none. The lake is stocked with fish, and it's common to see folks with fishing poles along the shore at their favorite spot with a line in the water.
The swimming facility gives you two swimming pools; one pool is a family pool for persons of all ages, and the other pool is for persons age 21 and older. There is a hot spa at the over 21 pool. The pool facility has a huge clubhouse with a party room and kitchen where residents of Westridge may sponsor parties. The party room can easily accommodate 100+ people. during summer months, you have the option of renting the adult pool along with the clubhouse for your party. I have used the party room and pool in the summer for my client appreciation parties, and the combination has worked out great. We use the upper deck just outside the party room for grilling food, and folks enjoy bubbling in the spa.
Westridge Elementary School is located in the center of Westridge. There are lots of walkers, and the rest of the kids take a short bus ride to school. Westridge Elementary has consistently received numerous academic awards each year. That was one of the reasons why Patty and I chose to buy a home in Westridge when our daughters were entering elementary school. Our girls enjoyed their experience at Westridge Elementary, and we were thoroughly satisfied with their wonderful teachers.
There are miles of walking/jogging paths that wind through the woods in Westridge. When you want to go out for a stroll or a run, you will find a lovely network of paved paths that wind through the wooded parkland that belongs to the Westridge Home Owners Association.
Westridge is convenient to two shopping centers, each anchored by a grocery store. No matter where you live in Westridge, you are seven minutes away from a grocery store, Starbucks, a dry cleaner, pharmacy, steak house, Chinese take-out, Jerry's Subs & Pizza, and more.
Lots of folks who live in Westridge work in Washington DC, The Pentagon, Crystal City, the Navy Yard, and other locations near the city. They take advantage of ride sharing for a fast commute. Some car pool, some ride the express bus, or the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), and quite a few take advantage of our world famous slug lines. The key to a fast commute on I-95 is getting access to the HOV express lanes. It takes 3+ persons in a vehicle to access the HOV lanes, or one person on a motorcycle. My neighbors who work in the city tell me they have 35-45 minute commutes, depending upon where they work, and how they travel. That beats an hour and a half in the regular lanes on I-95.
