Recording: Find Sellers With Predictive Analytics

Education & Training with ActiveRain University

In the webinar we conducted on February 9th, 2016. ActiveRain's Community Evangelist, Bob Stewart, hosted SmartZip's National Director for Sales, Jonathan McGowan, as they discussed how you can get more listings using predictive marketing, specifically using the platform that SmartZip offers. Evidently, this is a demo of the SmartZip platform, but that does not necessarily mean that you won't learn a ton of valuable information that you can apply on your own.

Jonathan started off with a brief introduction of SmartZip, who they are and why should you listen to them. Being one of the fastest growing companies not just in real estate, but of all companies in the United States, and with multiple awards under their belt, SmartZip builds real estate software focused on analytics and providing data to a lot of the major real estate companies out there. However, the main focus of the webinar was on how this information can be used by individual agents.

We've all heard the concept of "Big Data", but the question is, how exactly can we use big data to guess future trends so that you can be more intelligent and strategic on the way you focus your business.  For Jonathan, this is where predictive analytics comes in allowing you to focus on the right people and those that are ready to place their home on the market, positioning yourself well ahead of other agents.

Now that you know who you have to focus on, how do reach out to them? To answer this question Jonathan spent the remainder of the webinar discussing the different marketing techniques that have worked for their clients such as targeted online advertising, personalized direct mail, digital handwritten letters, etc. and how these can lead to your own branded landing pages to capture respondents.

Overall, the webinar shed some light on the concept of predictive analytics and how you can be more intelligent in where and how you allocate your limited resources to produce better results. As the saying goes "work smart, not hard", but nobody ever said you can't do both! The webinar ended with a short Q and A and if you have any further questions for Jonathan and the SmartZip team, you can call their number at 855-661-1064 or send an email to

In the spirit of ActiveRain giving, Jonathan has promised anyone who attended the webinar a free territory analysis by going to  simply fill up the form and a person who specializes on your market will connect with you.

We hope you enjoy the recording!
