The weather has been unseasonably cool here in Florida. We have also had a lot of wind, up to 20mph.
I had carefully planned my week out in advance and had put it in the calendar. The plan was for a full and busy week. I saw things come across my email that seemed like a good thing to do. Our Realtor Association had a class that I thought would provide helpful information to grow my business. I registered for it and started to change my calendar.
But then I reminded myself that I had established a plan and maybe I should work that plan.
I had 3 Open Houses scheduled for the week. That meant I had to market them if I wanted to have good attendance. One of the effective ways I have found is to door knock at least 40 houses around the property I will hold Open.
I print an Open House flier for that house and include a flier offering a Free Home Valuation for neighbors who might be thinking about selling their home.
So with 2 Open Houses that means I will knock at least 120 doors to invite neighbors to invite their friends and relatives to attend.
Today, it was cold and windy, but I canceled the class and said I need to go to work and market the Open Houses.
I knocked 80 doors today. And I had a great time doing it. It seems once I convince myself to do something I am generally glad I did.
So, today I found 2 prospects that were ready to buy a home.
One lady nearly jumped out the door when I introduced myself as a Realtor®. She was just amazed that I was there at that moment. She was so excited, she had just got off the phone with a Lender and found out she qualified for a mortgage. She said, I am ready to buy. I told her about the Open House for tomorrow that was only 2 blocks from where she and her husband are staying with his father. She asked the price and when I told her she about fell down. She said she had been pre qualified for just above that price.
Another lady said her mother was coming into town next week and want to buy a home. She was so excited to meet me and wants her mother to work with me.
I also found 2 people who want to Sell their home and want me to give them a Valuation for their property.
And if the day was not exciting enough, I received an email from a Broker on the other side of the state who was putting together a training session for their Association and asked me to come and speak on Divorce and Real Estate, an area that I specialize in.
I am really glad I was not able to talk myself out of working this week. I can hardly wait to see what the rest of this week brings.
