What Does a Rice Cooker Have to do With Real Estate . . .
Yesterday, I went to the store and I bought a rice cooker. It's the first rice cooker I've ever purchased and it's one of those "Why did I wait so long?" DUH moments in my life.
I had the same thing happen with . . . the leaf blower AND the hedge trimmer, but I digress.
The decision to buy a rice cooker was made after burning rice to the bottom of yet, another one of my good pots . . . which I soaked for over a week to try and salvage.
I went to Uwajimaya, an Asian market that's located in Beaverton. I've shopped at Uwajimaya in Beaverton many times before, especially when I have a yen for delicious Thai sauces, dakon radishes, udon noodles, satay noodles, rice paper, sake, spices and fresh seafood . . . among their other goodies.
I thought Uwajimaya would carry the best rice cooker products. And they did!
Today I used it and it made FLAWLESS rice. Absolutely perfect Jasmine rice, cooked in homemade chicken broth. When the rice was cooked perfectly, the cooker turned OFF.
What does a rice cooker have to do with real estate?
I'll tell you . . .
I thought I was cooking rice "good enough" in my pot.
I thought I knew all about cooking rice and yet . . . I kept burning my good pots.
For what I have paid to REPLACE the pots I've burned over the years, I could have saved money by buying a rice cooker.
No matter how many videos I've watched on cooking rice -- and I've watched plenty, from cooking Persian rice, to making Paella, to New Orleans Gumbo -- I can't get it just right.
Even though the rice cooker is just a kitchen appliance -- what a world of difference having a rice cooker will make. It will be simpler and a headache free experience.
How about real estate?
Even though I'm just a real estate agent . . . what a world of difference I make to my clients! I make the transaction simpler and a headache free experience!
When consumers of real estate think they can cook up their own deals . . . it's not as easy as is seems. It really boils down to knowledge and experience.
Having a real estate agent take care of the details is what any home buyer should be looking for. They should also be looking for a rice cooker!
I'll leave it up to you to add to the analogy recipe . . .
