If you are ready to sell your Atlanta area home, pay special attention to your master suite, both the bedroom and bathroom. When it comes to staging your master suite, think of it as a luxury hotel room and potential buyers will be invited right in. A sense of clean, comfortable amenities is easier to attain than you might think.
Cleaning is your first priority to set the stage in your master suite. Give your master bath a deep clean, scouring the walls, floor and ceiling. All fixtures should be sanitized, and don’t forget to clean the fan so it can run in top order. Windows should be cleaned inside and out to let in maximum light. Keep all personal items in cabinets or drawers. If you lack storage space within your bathroom, keep what you need in a travel bag.
When cleaning your master bedroom, focus on removing clutter and personal items. Take out any excess furniture which can make the room feel small. Review your closet and remove any non- seasonal clothes. If you have anything stored in your closet, remove these items. The more room in your closet, the more open it will feel and potential buyers will be able to sense what they can keep in the space. Storage units are an inexpensive away to keep your personal items safe, while allowing you to set the stage.
Stage your master suite with a neutral color of paint. If you can, extend the color to the bathroom so there is symmetry between the two spaces. Window treatments should match as well; a solid color is ideal. Do you have carpet that has seen better days? Rent a steam cleaner and you will be amazed at the difference. What if you have a bad stain or floors that need to be refinished? If you can afford the investment, it is better to spend some money on a new carpet or floor. If you can’t make the investment, a few neutral throw rugs can be strategically placed for showing.
The bed is the focal point for any bedroom within a house. Treat your bed as one in a luxury hotel and you won’t go wrong in setting the stage of your master suite. Invest in some new linens and pillows. Keep to neutral colors overall, but add in a few smaller throw pillows in a bright solid color to create a dramatic splash. You want buyers to feel that they could sleep in the room and a nice, clean, well- made bed will help them get that feeling.
