Here We Go!

OK.  Here we go!  I can only read and talk about it for so long before I just have to try it.  Yes, this is my first Blog entry although I have been a member for quite some time.  Thanks to my friend, Susan, in Tracy, Ca.  I am giving it a try.  Linking it to my website is another story.  I would guess that having an ActiveRain button on the home page of a website is the most effective.

Recently, my husband and I watched a show about "going green" which is a hot topic right now.  There were some great ideas.  We were very discouraged, however, that the people they interviewed lived in great mansions an, obviously, had the financing to be able to be so green.  The products they showed were extremely upper-end and made us wonder about the middle America?  Is going green feasible, yet, for the average family?  Or is it just for those who can put large sums up front in order reap the benefits later?

Fortunately, there are changes we can all make if we really take a look at our lifestyle.  One change at a time is better than none!

Gina, Welcome to Active Rain!  This is a great place to share and learn.  We look forward to reading more from you!  I have thought the same thing about "green" things, it would be nice if it didn't cost an arm and a leg to do so!  Good post!

Hi Gina,

It's great you decided to start writing!

Going "green" can be very expensive. As you wrote, big changes require a significant investment.  However, we all can make changes.  We can start with the mindset of constant awareness about the little things that add up, like turning off any unnecessary lights.

Keep on blogging!

Hi Gina, Welcome Aboard,  I also was a member for several months before I actually got involved.  Now I love it!  If you click on my name below and then follow it to my blog you will find one of my blogs entitled No bells & whistles... On that blog there are several people who have helped me greatly with the technology available to us.  Check them out.  The first 3 are the main ones.  Again Welcome and we'll see you dancing in the "Rain"
