Well, thanks for asking! Are you thinking of buying or selling?
If you are thinking of selling, things are going very well indeed. In January, 60 homes were sold in La Crosse County WI, up from 55 last year. And last year was a very good year for home sellers. Average price in January was $170,810 up 11.48 percent from 2015. Very good indeed! Days on the market decreased from 67 to 52. And best of all, in the beginning of January, there were 292 active homes on the market as compared to 388 the previous year. Now is a good time to get your home out there in front of eager buyers.
If you are thinking of buying, this news isn't very good. With increasing home prices and decreasing supply, you might find yourself - 1. Competing with other buyers for the home you want and 2. Having to pay more for homes the longer you wait to buy. Neither is a great prospect.
This trend seems to be an ongoing theme in most of the cities in La Crosse County, even in the city of La Crosse where the average home price is less than anywhere else in the county.
