Only Sacramento Real Estate Clients Can Use Voice Mail Messages

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

I was speaking to a new client last week about her communication choices, as I often ask my sellers how they would prefer that I communicate with them. If my sellers are older, say, maybe baby boomers like me, they might want to use the phone, and that's OK. Not everybody uses a computer, gasp as we may.

However, my client said she hates voice mail just as much as I do. It's like the last thing I ever check and sometimes, to be honest, I overlook for a bit. She said she never listens to voice mail messages and simply deletes them. I wish I could be like her. But I might have a client who left a message.

You can read more in my personal blog today about an amazing high tech item I am adding to my real estate business at this link: A New High Tech Real Estate Tip for Busy Sacramento Realtors.

Elizabeth,  The voice messages that go on and on and on and on ... are very hard to listen to. I want to bang my head on the wall ... just get to the point ... will ya?  Some never do ... they ramble for 5 minutes and then they are cut off.  If they call back ... oh good grief ....

You have a lot more patience than I. My limit is about 15 seconds.

Hi Elizabeth.  Amazon's Alexa sounds pretty neat.  The Cuban dinner sounded nice.

I always ask clients what works best for them, although I also tell them I will follow up with email about everything so we all have a written record to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Good morning Elizabeth. I always ask, it is so important to be able to communicate in a way that is good for them, less issues when done correctly.

Good morning Elizabeth.  I like voice mail.  It gives me a feeling for the person by their tone of their voice and their message.

I'll be sure to leave you a nice long-winded voice mail message next time I have an opportunity to catch you not answering the phone.

Hi Elizabeth:  Texting is for when you want a fast response. Emails are for more detailed information or questions, but still good to text that the email is there. Although I love to talk to my clients, we have agreed that I text them if it's urgent like setting up showings.

I prefer talking to texting / emailing but it's the voice mail I hate.

I'm not a fan of voicemail either, and often will not wait until the end of the message. I get the gist and call.  Or if I see you called and left a message, I just call back and delete the message after we talked.
