A Drop In The Bucket!

By
Real Estate Agent with Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty

As a Buyer when you tell your agent what you want, is it a blurry vision, too colorful, or picture perfect?

In today's age of technology, so much of what we see and hear is filtered.

Texts can be misleading and misunderstood, visuals can be filtered and changed, distractions can cause confusion. Its important to make sure communication is clear, take time to articulate to the specifics of what you want, and ask questions to clarify you are both on the same page.

Below are 3 picture of buckets, and see how different they can be.

Taking the time to be clear as to what you really want, we can target the specifics and that's "a drop in the bucket" to finding the perfect home and closing the deal.

Ellen

It's an intriguing way to talk about the issue of buyer wants and needs. They are often not clear, influenced by other matters (e.g., location, price) and chance over time. And sometimes what you are told is really not the reality because of the buyer's filter - their emotions! Sometimes clarity comes over time with discussion, and seeing the reality of what is available in their budget!

Excellent point you have made. I like the first one and can hardly see the second one. We all look through different eyes.

Ellen,

You made that abundantly clear with your illustrations.  I remember, when we were looking for a home, we were abundantly clear...no flag lot, large yard, one story, westside of Los Angeles.

We were take to 6 flag lots, napkin size yards, and Malibu whidh is the very furthest point of the Westside.  Great agents really know how  to listen.  A year later Ron had his license and we found the house ourself.

Good agents really listen like the lady who found us our Napa home.  It was exactly the perfect house.  I love your post.  I wish you a bucketful of good buyers who will tell you exactly what they want, and you will fullfill their wishes, because you know how to listen.   A
