My Best Friend Jack the Dog
Yesterday Donald Urschalitz wrote a post on Active Rain that shared a list of pet foods and treats that were made in China and contained ingredients that may be harmful to your pets. Based on the number of comments and reblogs, we Rainers are big pet lovers but that's no suprise. In their daily update today Realtormag shared the following information, 65% of American Households own pets and 83% of those households consider their pets part of the family. The article stressed that if your home has pet friendly features or has access to a dog park you should play those up in your listing. They also published the following infographic with fun facts on pet ownership and the amount of money we spend on of furry friends:
One last note while we are discussing our dogs, I was at HEB in Bastrop today doing my weekly shopping I saw that they were placing pallets of Beneful dog food on the end cap presumably to attract buyers. Beneful was one of the brands that showed up on the list published yesterday by Donald Urschalitz and there was also an article published last year by CBS News that indicates Beneful may be harmful to your pets. If HEB's actions are any indication many stores are going to try and discount any foods or snacks that showed up on the list to try and limit their losses, so please double check the list of dangerous brands and check to see where your pet food/snacks were manufactured to ensure the safety of our friends.
