An Excuse . . . . is Not An Option

An Excuse . . . . is Not An Option

“Ninety-nine percent of failures come from people

who have the habit of making excuses.”

George Washington Carver 1860 – 1943, American Botanist

and Inventor

As I see it. . . . . . . .

An excuse . . . . is not an option

Excuses will not fuel your success journey. They become an anchor . . . . and the weight of that anchor will eventually pull you under.

Excuses won’t solve problems they compound them . . . . and make them harder to resolve.

When your faced with a challenge . . . . look for solutions . . . . not excuses.

When you experience a setback or failure . . . . find the best way to overcome the condition . . . . and push forward.

The success journey is a no excuse zone . . . . it’s a zone of where an excuse. . . . .  is not an option zone . . . . It’s your success zone.

Hi Lou Ludwig ,  Also probably 99% of the people they tell it to, know it's just an excuse, rather than a truthful reason.

Excuses many times come with a pointing of a finger that should be pointed backwards

So true. Just last night my son and I were discussing "accountability" and the fact that so many people confuse reasons with excuses. As in: "I stole that wallet because I wanted to" as opposed to "I stole that wallet because Mom always liked my brother best."

Hi Lou, When I was on my crutches, I did not use that excuse to show a home or get a listing....You have to push yourself or no one will. Great Post!

Lou Ludwig in BOLD I learned, you get results or have reasons (Excuses), can't have both!

Yes yes YES.  No excuses means personal responsibility.  One important lesson I make sure my cub scout den hears often.

Thank You.

When I fail at something, it is always of my own device. Just have to try harder and don't repeat otherwise nothing is learned.

I tell my kids they can give me an explanation, but not an excuse is avoidance.  Explanation looks at a situation to find out what went wrong to avoid the same mistake twice or look at what the problem is in order to solve it.

The truthometer pegged out on this one!  Excuses seem only to function as an attempt to justify failure.   Of course there is always the "after action" analysis where you tell yourself the truth about how you failed and how to address it for the next opportunity.

Hi Lou Ludwig - just read this as a re-blog from Winston Heverly .  As William Feela pointed out, it is about taking responsibility. Those who do not want to own it justify the failure, as Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner, Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC pointed out.  Thanks for making us, once again, to stop and think!
