"What we ponder and what we think about sets the course of our life. Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish, we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish, we can start a new activity. Any day we wish, we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.
"We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause. As Shakespeare uniquely observed, "The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves." We created our circumstances by our past choices. We have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today."- Jim Rohn
I just spent some time reflecting on the first half of the year and thinking through my life. All of us can take a day out, or a weekend, and think about the first half of the year and make some subtle tweaks for the second half of the year. WE NEED TO DO THIS! You can not count on the economy radically getting better to help your situation. You need to look at areas in your business where a little effort can yield great results. Where did your business come from in the first half of the year, what successes, what failures? What can be learned and then, what can be tweaked, changed or even re-vamped? Think through these things, then decide on the changes that need to happen and then schedule them in. I did this, and the second half will be far more successful then the first half.
You either grow or you go backwards, you can not stay the same. If you had a good first half, you can not rest on that-you need to keep moving forward. Spend some time away, even a day out of the office and think on these things. Then put them into a simple action plan, a few simple steps and then schedule the steps in and attack. The success you have from this will dwarf the effort you put in.
