Wettest Rainy Season on Record in Seattle

We broke a record on Friday in Seattle.  It has nothing to do with sports (Go Hawks!) and has everything to do with our weather :-)  We have had nearly 2 feet of rain since December 1st.  We broke a record that was set back in 1998-1999 rainy season (from December to February).

It's pretty amazing!  It didn't feel like, to me, that we got a ton of rain.  I mean we had days where it felt like it rained & rained, but we did have a really nice "hot" spell for about a week where we enjoyed sunshine and we have had some nice days in between the rain.

Congratulations Seattle on getting more rain than we have in 17 years!!  To read the full story click here.

That rain must be dumping there with nothing left to deliver over to the plains Katricia Navarrete as we have been very dry here.

Hi Katricia.  We've had more than our normal share of rain this year as well.  Though, no records like you've had.

Hello Katricia ... that is quite amazing and when I lived in Portland OR we use to get our fair share of rain. I have been in Alaska for 3 months now and this is the 6th year of mild winter, very little snow and warmer temps.

Welcome to ActiveRain

It is hard to envision 2' of rain.  Those rainy days may not be great for showing home buyers new homes, but hey, Seattle is so beautiful when everything is green.  I am looking forward to my next visit and I will bring my umbrella just in case!
