February 2016 Skagit County Housing Market Status

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Western Realty

We need houses to sell! This time of the year in 2014 there were more than 1/3 more houses available for buyers in Western Washington than there are right now. If you are considering making a move, now is a terrific time to put your house on the market! There is low competition (inventory), prices are strong, and homes are selling quickly. See full data below...

You can see in the chart below that housing inventory in Skagit county this January was 34% lower than it was in January of 2014! 26% lower in Whatcom County and 28% in Snohomish County!

Inventory

With inventory so reduced, you would think sales might be down... not the case! Home sales are up the most in Skagit County where they are increased 40% compared to January 2014! Huge increases in Snohomish and Whatcom counties as well at 36% and 27% repsectively.

Closed Transactions

It is not suprising that homes are selling more quickly, the average number of days on the market are down 27% in Skagit County, 19% in Snohomish County and 17% Whatcom County.

Days on Market

Low supply has helped home prices to increase 13% in Skagit County and 27% in Snohomish County - making it a great time to sell your home!

 Price

Since mortgage rates remain very low, this is also a terrific time for buyers to get the most for their money.

Seth, pretty cool graphs, and I like that you explain them.  Not everyone will walk away with what you share just with visual alone, great information.
