Does anyone else get this question?

Almost every day without fail whether it be from a client or from someone who just finds out I am real estate,  I get the question.."So, how is the market?  Are you doing okay?"  My first comment is well, I may not be a good one to ask because I had a great year last year and am having a terrific year this year.  What I do see is alot of inventory sitting on the market and it's taking longer to sell a home these days because there are so many to choose from.  My next question, is "What do you think is going to happen in the future?"  Granted, I can't tell the future, and even though I am having a great year, I am finding the market to be unpredictable as well as sporadic.  Nashville was ranked as one of the top cities for investment markets as well as a stable and growing economy.

I realize I deal with a lot of relocation so I am constantly seeing people move into our fair city; however, I am seeing in spite of the economic downtown alot of spending.  Just this Spring Break we were at Disney World at it was packed from other "Spring Breakers."  I realize Nashville, TN has not been affected as much; however, everytime I get asked that question, the people asking have such a look of sympathy on their face.

Is anyone else having as good a year as me and is also being asked that question?  I would love to hear.

Oh Yea!!! Tons of folks keep inquiring. I wish we as realtors would do a better job of advertising positive news instead of allowing the news media to out market us on constant negativity.

Keep up the good work!

My year has been slower, but I would never tell that to Joe Public.  If we would all say the market is improving that would instill confidence and the market would actually improve.

Ask me how I am doing in 6-12 months, as I am just getting into the biz.  I know some people think I am crazy to be getting into real estate right now, but I am ready to do what I have to do to be successful!  Besides, I love real estate!

One thing I've learned to do, no matter how I'm faring, is to tell everybody that things are going great--couldn't be busier! Perception is reality!
