1st Impressions Are Lasting Impressions

I have always heard 1st Impressions are lasting impressions in all real estate training courses.

My hairdresser retired the end of last year.  He is pursuing his passion to be a life coach.  He hugged me after every visit and told me how much he enjoys our conversations.  I reluctantly started searching for another hairdresser, asking my friends who they use.  Finally, a trusted friend suggested her hairdresser in the town next to mine,  The morning of my appoitnment, I showed up 5 minutes early so I could get myself settled.  The receptionist told me to take a seat as he wasn't in yet.  He arrived 15 minutes later thru the front door and looks at me and says:  "Sorry I was late - I had to run to the store to get your color."  He shakes a plastic bag at me saying: "Here it is."  Thankfully, it wasn't a CVS bag, I started to get really nervous.  He disappears around the color and I'm assuming he is preparing the color.  The receptionist comes over to me all bundled up in her coat and says:  "If I don't return, send someone to look for me."  I asked where she was going, she says the salon owner won't installed washer and dryer, so she has to walk to the laundrymat to wash the towels.  She is scared of the characters that visit this laundry mat and her husband wants her to quit working at salon.  Now I'm really scared....

My hair stylist arrives and directs me to a chair and starts coloring my hair.  After the color is on, he sends me over to sit under the hot blower to set the color.   He thens asks if I want anything at Dunkin Donuts as he is leaving to get Ice Coffee and left!  First 15 minutes, I have decided I will never return to this place again.

He returns and gives me the best hair cut I've had in 50 years using many scissors and spend the next hour catering to me.  It didn't matter because I decided I am not stepping foot inside this salon again.

Got me thinking, when you meet with sellers or buyers, what their first impression.  Are you on time?

Do you arrive prepared?  You know your market, but how does the Conference Room look? Is there coffee or water for your visitors?  Are you always professional?  Or, are you answering or texting on your phone?

The vibe you get can be the one already inside brewing too. You lost your hair twister of many years and could be a little peeved about great. Gotta search for a new head hunter to tame the hair. We bring filters into the experience too right? Different than what you had is not bad.... it is change and you sound pleasantly surprised... with the new do and where you get it now! Keep looking for the whole package.... on time, have folks that are not running the roads, etc.
